居士一日見牧童，乃問：「路從什麼處去？」童曰：「路也不識。」士曰：「這看牛兒。」童曰：「這畜生。」士曰：「今日什麼時也？」童曰：「插田時也。」士大笑。
One day Layman Pang came upon a boy herding cattle. He asked, "Where does this road go?"
The boy said, "I don't even know what a road is."
Pang said, "You little cowherd."
The boy said, "You animal."
Pang said, "What time is it today?"
The boy said, "Rice-planting time."
Pang roared with laughter.
